Nash (Potatoes)

Meet the newest member of The Long house.
His name is Nash Long.
He was born in March and came to live at our house at the end of April.
We had no intentions of getting another dog, but he was in a bad home so soon in his little short life that Michael and I decided we needed to be his parents and give him the best loving home we could. And I think he shows us everyday that he loves his new home.
He is a Westie mix, but we're not sure what he is mixed with. Michael loves that he is part Westie because his long time friend Kimo was a Westie mix and that makes him happy.
As you can tell by the photo's he is a little cuddle bug and a huge Momma's boy!
When I am in the shower he wants to get in and take a shower with me, I have never seen such a thing. At night he has to be touching me in order to sleep. It's so cute.
I am the one who was never a pet person. Before Michael, I never wanted dogs and especially not cats. And now...I love these fur babies more than I could ever have imagined possible.
Fur Children give very unconditional love and are really good for the heart.

Nashy sleeping in Mommy's arms. He loves to be cuddled and rocked to sleep like a baby.

Nita and Nash sleeping on the foot of the recliner. I look at this picture and smile. To me they're so adorable.

Grudges, Sadness and Love

Sometimes you sit back and think about someone or a certain situation and think, "what happened here"?
We used to get along so well and then with a blink of an eye it's gone, done, over with.
Not saying we are innocent by any means. But sometimes a misunderstanding can be pushed to the point that you can go years without talking to someone you love so much.
Along the way things were said and done to hurt each other by both parties.
How do you get over the hurt?
How do you mend fences?
Can you ever regain the trust and love you once had?
I sure hope so!
Contrary to popular belief I don't have control, if I did this thing would not have lasted this long!
Who makes the first move and how do you get the other person to understand you are extending an Olive Branch?
I guess maybe I don't understand the point of holding grudges, cause I can get over it just as fast as I got mad.
I can only work on me as a person and I know that for the past year and a half I have been working very hard to understand why I do some of the things I do and trying so hard to fix me.
I know things won't be fixed over night but with baby steps maybe the future can look a whole lot brighter :)
